Discount retailer Poundland is set to undergo its “biggest change in 30 years,” according to reports from various sources including the Daily Mail, Nottingham Post, The Mirror, and The Sun. The overhaul, initiated by the parent company Pepco Group, will introduce 2,000 new lines across its 850 stores in the UK and Ireland.

New Product Range and Overhaul Details

The massive update involves a complete transformation of Poundland’s general merchandise ranges, introducing a diverse array of products ranging from homeware and cookware to plants, bathroom decor, and technology. According to Poundland’s commercial director, Tim Bettley, this change is “transformational” for the discount retailer, and customers can expect a fresh new look along with amazing value.

Key Highlights:

  1. Extensive Product Lines:

    • The new product range includes kitchenware starting at £1.25, bathroom decor from 50p, and containers from 75p.

    • Other additions encompass mirrors, mugs, coasters, candles, cutlery, tablecloths, and even toys and technology.

    • Poundland has access to Pepco’s 4,800-plus stores across Europe, enabling the introduction of new stock while maintaining affordability for customers.

  2. Phased Rollout:

    • The transition will be phased, with almost 1,000 items already available in stores and 750 on the retailer’s website. The complete range will be introduced in the coming weeks.

    • The move follows Pepco’s acquisition of Poundland in 2017, which led to the revamp of the entire clothing section in more than 550 stores.
